We hope that new boxes' design, competitive prices and this our Internet site contribute to strengthen this kind of relationship The Scioline Soldà C. was founded by Gino Soldà in 1934. Born in 1907, he participated in 1932 as a cross-country skier at the Lake Placid Olimpic Games. In that occasion he understood the great importance of the usage of a good ski wax. For this, after a period of study and research, he decided to start the ski wax professional production. During the '40s he was the national cross-country ski trainer, this allowed him to test directly his own products. Internationally known rock and mountain climber, he opened up many new routes in the Dolomites. In 1954 he partecipated to the first expedition to K2 in the Karakorum, giving a precious contribution to the successfull issue of the storic undertaking. Throughout this time, besides his intense alpinistic activity he continued to produce and refine the ski waxes, already known all over Italy and used by the National "Azzurri" Team for both Alpine and Nordic Skiing. Since 1978 this great inheritance had been collected by his son, Manlio, who gave new impulse to chemical research in the ski wax production. Being a qualified chemist with 18 years of experience in the industry, he took his father's activity and gave it a strictly scientific imprint. Gino's great experiance found its natural fulfilment in Manlio's scientific results. Thanks to theoric studies and continuous experimental tests carried out by an expert staff cooperating with the chemical department lectures of Ferrara University, during the '80s the Scioline Soldà Company became a new reality. In the 1980 the first results of this cooperation was published on "Sciare" a specialized review. The article titoled "Waxing: magic art or exact scienze?" contributed to raise up the blanket of mistery that for long time had enveloped the "ski waxes magicians". These results are considered a milestone from which started new studies and new experimentations with scientific basis in order to improve waxes quality even more. 1983 - Soldà was the first manufacturer to patent and put on the market the dry mixable powder ski waxes. 1988 - It was the first to commercialise ski waxes obtained by mixing fluorinated products to normal waxes: in this way the LINE-F was born. 1992 - The superiority shown by Line-F brought the NEW LINE-F that contributed to the successes of the Italian Ski Team in the Olympics of Albertville and Lillehammer. 1996 - The IPER-F line is brought about by adding new products to the wax matrix and the substituting and increasing of the fluorine mixtures. 1997 - The outcome is a new revolutionary product: METAL JET, the anti-friction for ski-edges. 1998 - Three new lines of ski waxes, based on waxes containing growing percentages of fluorine, will be produced for every need of performance and cost: F10, F20, F30. Today the Soldà Ski Wax is known in the highest international level, and with its products it has become a member of the Suppliers Pool of several national teams in their different specialities.
